We Contain Multitudes – A Camaro

Hold one dropped-D chord through most of a verse and chorus, then see how long the song survives: that’s the whole dare behind “A Camaro”. Jon Fine says there are a few other notes in there, but the repetition is the point, and with no vocal to lean on, Simon Kobayashi’s bass and Orestes Morfín’s drums have to keep the pressure up underneath him. It’s the most stripped-back corner of We Contain Multitudes, and one of the first songs the trio ever wrote, probably played at their very first practice. Next stop is the four-track Say Nothing, out November 27 on Expert Work Records and Vina Records, following the title track in September.
